Training Opportunities
We offer the following training opportunities to prepare high school, post-secondary, and community-based organization educators to provide their students with a variety REAL Entrepreneurship experiences:
REAL Institutes
33-38 contact hour course that prepares high school, post-secondary, and community-based organization educators to teach REAL Entrepreneurship, the hands-on course which helps students learn to think, plan, and act as entrepreneurs. Institute participants experience the highlights of the REAL course as their students will interact with experienced REAL instructors, and prepare lesson and course plans. Institutes are held during the summer. Tuition ranges from $1,000 to $1,700 (most include tuition, lodging, and most meals).
K-8 REAL
The K-8 REAL Entrepreneurship Institute is a 32 contact-hour course that introduces teachers to programs which develop entrepreneurial talent in students from kindergarten to eighth grade. Classroom simulations, community projects, and actual business ventures stir imaginations, foster good citizenship, help students learn the real value of money and provide entrepreneurial experience. The tuition of $1,000 includes training, materials, and some lodging and meals, depending upon location.
K-8 REAL Entrepreneurship seeks to help students of elementary and middle school or community-based programs gain hands-on experience in the following areas:
Developing a K-8 REAL Entrepreneurship community
Developing a community plan using the K-8 REAL Entrepreneurship components
Developing organization skills
Understanding the legal requirements, economic concepts, and management skills for operating a K-8 REAL enterprise
Being an effective citizen of the school and community
Being an effective part of an enterprise
Spanish REAL
The Spanish REAL Institute is taught in Spanish and uses REAL’s Spanish curriculum. Other than the language, the Spanish Institutes are the same as our traditional program above.
eREAL Online Institute
eREAL is based on the REAL Entrepreneurship curriculum, and covers all the essential areas of learning of the classroom-based course. eREAL is an online, facilitator-led, experiential course of study. It is both asynchronous, meaning the facilitator and students do not both have to be online at the same time and each can work at his or her own pace, and place-independent, meaning the facilitator and students can live as far apart as across town or across the globe.
REAL Youth Entrepreneurship Camp Training
During the REAL Youth Entrepreneurship Camp Training you will receive an overview of a youth entrepreneurship camp agenda, specific activities, and strategies for using the Experiential Learning Cycle in the delivery of camp modules.
The cost for the training is $450 which includes tuition and materials.
